Recalling Scots mourning for the thousands fallen at Flodden Field on 9 Sep
1513, Flowers of the Forest is the name of a pipe tune and a later poem, and
now is traditionally used for a roll of clan members who have gone on before.
The following appeared in Litir à Clann (Family Newsletter), from the
Association President, R.M. "Mac" Sinclair of Kingston, Ontario.

We are saddened to record the deaths of several long-term members;
and we extend sincere sympathy to their families.
Mary Sinclair
Mrs. Mary Sinclair, of London, Ontario. Among Mary's survivors is son
Gordon of Kingston, a well known musician in that area.
Matthew Sinclair
Mr. Matthew Sinclair, of Huntsville, Ontario. He was 90,and had been
an active farmer and community leader for some 60 years. Matthew was
an exhibitor at the founding of the Toronto Royal Winter Fair in 1922,
and a frequent exhibitor of potatoes there and in Area competitions, since.
His father was a pioneer clergyman of the Algoma District.
Roy Sinclair
Mr. Roy Sinclair, of Goshen, Guysborough Co., N.S. Roy was 88 and
a life-long resident farmer of the Goshen area where many Sinclair
families located after emigrating from Scotland.
Funeral service was held in the United Church on Loch Katrine where
we have held worship service at the time of Sinclair Gatherings in
Nova Scotia, and where we have installed our motto and crest as
a stained glass window insert.
Roy was a brother to Sterling, of St. Catherines,
Alexander (Sandy) and William (Bill) both of Toronto.

E.G. Sinclair, D.D.S., L.D.S., K.C.L.J.
It is with a sad heart that I report to you the death of our Founder
and first President, Doctor Edward Gladstone Sinclair (Eddie). Death
came on January 1st, 1986, in his 79th year. Those who knew Eddie
personally were aware that he was fighting cancer for some years and
could only admire the strong will to live that he showed during these
years.
He is survived by his wife, Roselma, his sons, Edward (Sandy) of Newmarket, Ian of Seattle and Rory Angus of Toronto and a daughter,
Heather Dwyer of Norwood. There are four grandsons and two grand-daughters.
Dr. Sinclair had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Military
and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, 78th Fraser Highlanders,
the Heraldry Society of Canada, the Hospitaller Order of St. John of
Jerusalem, the Masonic Order, and the Monarchist League of Canada.
We have previously sent an expression of sympathy to Eddie's family
from the Association.
Donald Archibald Sinclair
We also mourn the death of Donald Archibald Sinclair, in Markdale Ont.,
on Monday January 27th. Don was the son of Margaret and the late James
Sinclair of Ceylon, a nearby hamlet where the family has lived and farmed
for many years. Don owned and operated a bowling alley in Ceylon and
developed cottages at nearby Lake Wilcox. In addition he had a honey
business and sold bee pollen.
Donald is survived by his mother, a daughter, Nancy Lee, a brother,
Douglas, and three sisters: Shirley (Mrs. Lloyd Cornfield), Anne (Mrs.
Larry Teeter) and Sharon. All are members of our Association.
