Recalling Scots mourning for the thousands fallen at Flodden Field on 9 Sep
1513, Flowers of the Forest is the name of a pipe tune and a later poem, and now
is traditionally used for a roll of clan members who have gone on before.

Summer 2000
D.L. "Sandy" Sinclair
D.L. "Sandy" Sinclair of Toronto Ontario recently passed away. Sandy had been
a member of the Association for at least a decade. He telephoned your editor
often to enquire about this and that in Sinclair lore. He always bought tickets
for the Winter Gatherings even though he was rarely able to attend. He thought
such things should be supported. He will be missed.

Spring 2001
We are deeply saddened by the passing of three members
of our Association.
David A. Sinclair
David A. Sinclair of Syracuse NY was a loyal member of Clan Sinclair
Canada. His brother-in-law wrote to tell us of his passing and also to say
how much he enjoyed the Association.
Allan Lees
Allan Lees, who along with his beloved wife Carole, was a staunch
supporter of our Association, passed away on the 28th of March this year.
Allan was always chipper and cheerful in spite of having suffered for many
years with several health problems. His enthusiasm for his Sinclair roots
never waned and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Bet Bird
Bet Bird beloved wife of our good friend and booster of Clan Sinclair,
Don Bird, passed away late last year. Don and Bet were devoted to one
another and we extend our condolences to Don.

Summer 2001
Bill Sinclair
Bill Sinclair, of Kingston, husband of the late Gertrude Sinclair, both staunch members of the Association, passed away last May. Mac Sinclair, our Honourary President, sent us this sad news and represented the Clan at the funeral.
Jessie C. Sinclair
Jessie C. Sinclair, beloved sister of Clan President, Bill Sinclair and brother Jack Sinclair, passed away peacefully at Dartmouth N.S. on 25 June, 2001. Jessie was universally loved and cherished by her extended family and friends and will be sadly missed. A memorial service took place at Loch Katrine United Church on July 7th and interment of her ashes followed beside the graves of her parents in the Goshen Cemetery. (From Jack Sinclair)
James St Clair
James St. Clair, of Boston, passed away in March 2001. Although not a member of any Clan Sinclair organization, we wish to note that he was the epitome of the stately Boston lawyer. For those of you old enough to remember, he was the personal lawyer to Richard Nixon during the Watergate crisis and in that role he brought that famous Hemingway phrase, "grace under fire" to life.
