Flowers of the Forest
2002
|
Recalling Scots mourning for the thousands fallen at Flodden Field
on 9 Sep 1513, Flowers of the Forest is the name of a pipe tune and
a later poem, and now is traditionally used for a roll of clan members who
have gone on before.
The following appeared in Roslin O Roslin, edited
by Rory Sinclair of Toronto.
Winter 2002
Ivan Sinclair
William Sinclair ("Auld Wullie") of Toronto, writes to tell
us of the passing of his younger brother Ivan Sinclair, 82 of Brockville.
Ivan was a long-time member of the Association as well as frequent
correspondent. He is missed by Wullie, his family and by us.
Kenny Thorpe
Linda and William Sinclair inform us of the passing of William’s
step-father Kenny Thorpe. William and his step-dad became closer
over these past few years and both Linda and William’s mother,
Frances take much comfort from this. Clan Sinclair sends them
our sincerest condolences on their loss.
