Some twenty-two Sinclairs (or guests) met for dinner, entertainment and
election of new executive officers of the Association on April 7th.
This event was set at the beautiful Donald Gordon Centre, Queen's University
at Kingston.
The dinner included a traditional piping in and Robbie Burns' "Address
to a Haggis", a couple of short reports from the treasurer (we're solvent)
and the president (he took too long). Interesting sidelights were:

Highland dancing - Highland Fling by Jill Staveley, Kingston, and Pamela
Sinclair, Scarborough. One would think they had practised for a week instead
of ten minutes.

Pamela Sinclair danced a solo which charmed everyone.

Three dancers of the Rob Roy Highland Dancers of Kingston performed several
other traditional dances.

Nancy (Sinclair) Staveley¹ entertained with guitar and Scottish songs.

Glen² and Victoria Sinclair of Scarborough,
and daughter Pamela, travelled the greatest distance to attend and were greatly appreciated.

Two Linklater families attended. The Linklaters are Septs of the Sinclair clan
and we were all pleased to welcome these newcomers as full and rightful members
of this Association.
Results of elections of officers for the two-year period 1984-1986 are:
- President - R. Malcolm (Mac) Sinclair, Kingston, Ont.
- Immediate Past President - Dr.
Edward G. Sinclair, Norwood, Ont.
- Vice Presidents - Alexander
(Sandy) Sinclair, Newmarket, Ont.; John M. Sinclair, New Glasgow, N.S.
- Secretary - Eileen M. Sinclair³,
Kingston.
- Treasurer - Heather Sinclair, Kingston.
Note: A few days after the election, I received a letter from Vice-President
Sandy (Newmarket) stating that due to current ill health he does not now wish
to continue as a Vice-President. There was no alternative to accepting this
withdrawal.
The Toronto/Central Ontario area has many Sinclair families making
a potentially strong and vigorous Association unit. Is there anyone
(or a couple of members) in the area who would take on the development
of this unit as a project?

¹ Nancy E. Sinclair Staveley (later Neill)
had succeeded Roselma Sinclair as CSAC Secretary in 1982 at the same time her father
R. Malcolm "Mac" Sinclair succeeded Roselma's husband and CSAC co-founder
Eddie Sinclair. The Highland dancer Jill Staveley is her daughter.
